Understanding how often you cancel

Drivers on BlaBlaCar do an incredible job of fulfilling bookings and going out of their way to help passengers every day. That’s why passengers trust complete strangers to take them where they need to go.

When drivers cancel on passengers for preventable reasons, passengers lose confidence to book on BlaBlaCar, and this impacts all drivers and hurts our entire community. That's why we show how often you cancel on your publications, so passengers know what to expect when booking with you.

How it works

How often you cancel bookings (excluding declined requests) reflects your cancelled bookings in the last 18 months. If your publication shows that you:

  • Never cancels rides: you’ve shown exceptional commitment to fulfilling booked rides without any cancellations. Passengers can confidently rely on you for their travels.
  • Rarely cancels rides: you almost never cancel, indicating your dedication to fulfilling most of your bookings. Passengers can expect a high level of dependability.
  • Sometimes cancels rides: you may have occasionally cancelled rides, but your commitment to completing most bookings remains intact. Passengers can still consider you a reliable option, even though some uncertainty may arise.
  • Often cancels rides: you cancelled many rides. While you may have valid reasons for your cancellations, passengers might prefer to explore other options.

If you need to cancel

Although cancellations happen for different reasons, it's best to avoid them whenever possible. We recognise that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and cancelling a ride is sometimes necessary.

That's why we've made it simple for you to bounce back quickly by completing your next rides without any cancellations. In case you need to cancel a booking, let your passengers know and cancel the ride as soon as possible.
